A Birthday to Remember

Not really intending to make a fuss over my birthday today being one year older and all, but I had such a fantastic day thanks to my loving husband @ezzy, I'm really so very grateful and can’t help but share some of today's highlights with my Steemit family, lol.

A single blossoming pink rose was delivered to the bed before I woke up! How romantic and sweet of @ezzy!

However, the morning didn't turn out exactly as @ezzy had planned as my cat Mini started vomiting all over our first floor landing and she had multiple blood wounds on her head and face. I was quite worried as you can imagine so, without hesitation, we took her to the vet straight away. The vet diagnosed it as some sort of allergy reaction, therefore prescribed the necessary treatments as well as a blood test, to investigate further on the cause of this.

Coming back home, I must admit I felt a little relieved from the worry. @ezzy took me out for a really lovely brunch at my favourite local restaurant called Parlour. If you have been following my blog, this was one of the restaurant I had reviewed in the past. Their interior is still as beautiful as ever. Real cozy. And the food, OMG, was brilliant. They still have the best "All Day English Breakfast" I ever had!

Today, however, I tried the mashed avocado & toasted lazy bread with scramble eggs and bacon. It came beautifully presented with a selection of fresh salad and homemade bread. The bacon was cooked perfectly, being both crisp and tasty!

The best part was the evening treat from @ezzy to the Goodman restaurant, which was actually voted one of the "best steak houses" in London.

The branch we opted for was located in Mayfair. We had already visited this place a few times in the past. Every time we visit here, the food was plain excellent. What I love the most about Goodman is their expert level of professionalism. They explain to you about all the different steak options available, even down to where they are sourced from.

Their steak selection ranges from 250g up to 750g! So if you like a really good steak, this is the place for you but perhaps preferably wear loose fitting trousers, haha! @ezzy went for the 400g Ribeye, which is locally sourced from Yorkshire and has a more earthen taste to them. I dare not to go for the same as I don’t think my digestive system will ever be the same again if I do, lol. Therefore, I opted for the 250g fillet.

Goodman never disappoints as their steaks were cooked to perfection. The ribeye has an abundance of "fat marbling" which gives it that distinctive flavour of succulent beef. The filet was extremely tender with every bite, having a buttery texture and quite low in fat. The "triple-cooked chips" are a must and the creamy spinach was also delicious too. We were in literal heaven…

A final surprise as the evening drew to a close, was that my dessert came with a candle and “Happy Birthday” written in chocolate sauce around the edge of the plate. That’s super thoughtful of @ezzy. Honestly, I could not have hoped to have a better life partner than this genuine and sweet guy!
