The Author

The Author

The biggest thrill is when strangers ask my name
Whilst I volunteer at my church
And when they hear what I say
They say, "You're the author!"
This fills me with such joy
This makes me feel like I matter
A touch of fame in a small town
Something I can claim as my own
And I give thanks to my Lord and Savior for blessing me with this gift
And I give thanks for my struggles
And the issues I suffer with
They give me something to write about
They cause me to feel more
They help me to reach others and remind them that they're not alone
A self published author
This is what I am
Almost twenty-six years at writing
I will be thirty-four this year
So thankful for every inspiration
So glad to be able to capture special moments
I will write until my demise, God willing
And I hope to be remembered as "the writer" when my life comes to an end
