Art Life drawing + colour experimentation
I got a tube of viridian delivered yesterday and was excited about trying it out today.
I'd been told that mixing it with red/ crimson gave great darks, almost BLACK, and it does but you gotta be careful. This is a colour to be used sparingly as it can make the whole painting look grey and dull - I learnt this the only way (by doing).
The life drawing session was a lot of colour mixing and scribbling working on the same bit of card and painting over. Been trying for a more expressive style rather than anatomic accuracy so we have the elongated torso and curves..
Wonderful!
Glad you like it, Nadejda.
well done!
Thanks for the upvote of confidence. A day of experimentation and learning. Again.
i plan to attempt learning watercolor here in the near future. i am not sure if i look forward to the days of experimentation, learning, headache, and heartache again or not.
It's definitely worth the headaches for those times when it comes together and you surprise yourself.
Good luck with learning watercolours, I use acrylics myself as you can paint over your mistakes!! Watercolours are a lot less forgiving.
the least forgiving.. the heartaches of ditching a great painting because of a single obvious flaw will be the worst. on the other hand people wanting my art will be the best! the yin and yang of learning lol
