Mie Kocok Si Doel, Legendary “Shaken Noodle” in Banda Aceh
Mie Kocok or in English “Shaken Noodle” is kind of Indonesian cuisine that is so famous in Bandung, West Java. This cuisine has been spreading throughout Indonesia, including Aceh Province. And one of the most delicious Shaken Noodle is Mie Kocok Si Doel. It’s located by the Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh.
It’s very easy to access. If we are riding or driving from Pasar Aceh (Aceh Market), we just drive few minutes, Mie Kocok Si Doel is on our left side, not so far from Bank Syariah Mandiri. Or if you are already in the Grand Mosque, you could just walk to the place.
According to Wikipedia, Kocok refer to how to make or cook the noodle, that is by shaking the noodle placed in a handled porous tin container, while being simmered in hot water. Usually, for Mie Kocok, we use flat yellow noodle.
Few months ago we visit Banda Aceh, so we visit Mie Kocok Si Doel. I came with my family. It’s a legendary Mie Kocok, it has been founded more than 20 years ago. When I was still college student, I often visited this place.
If you like to try a different noodle, just visit Mie Kocok Si Doel, and taste it. It’s delicious, for sure, trust me. The price of one portion is IDR 14,000 or
