SQUEE! So cool hearing my name spoken in that lovely Scotsman accent! Great answer, @raymondspeaks, and congrats on ten years together!
For my next question... LOL! This is one I came up with (reworded a bit) for one of those Liebster Award/Getting to Know You posts that were making the rounds with WP bloggers last year.
~ Do you believe in ghosts? If so, have you ever seen one?
Looking forward to the next podcast!
Good question! I'll answer that tomorrow :)
Yay! Listening now! 😊
I am glad you found great mental health services! It makes a difference when you receive good services.
Man bag made me laugh! lol
Thanks for answering my question! That is awesome that you are able to do what you do full time!
Haha - our sporrans!
Yeah, the services I received were pretty top notch! :)
No problem - any other questions? :)
You said your wife was a client. Is it taboo there to date a client? I know your position was a little different then mine, so that make a difference. I just ask because I could lose my license if I was to date a client. So I wondered if you guys were allowed to date, or if you had to keep it secret for awhile. I hope my prying isn't too much, but you did say you were an open book.
No, no, you're all fine! I don't know if you caught it but our first date was after her last day. So yup, it was a taboo, but when we started to date she wasn't working with us anymore. We didn't contact each other personally until after she left. I could have lost my job if I did :)
Okay! Cool. Well at least you waited till you were in the clear. I know my code of ethics here says a person would have to wait at least 5 years after the last service was rendered before they could date a former client. Everywhere is different though, and the services you provided may not have been as formal. I think they drilled that into our head when I was in my master's program, so that is probably why I got hung up on it.
Yeah, the services that I was providing her was never that formal. I mean all I was doing was providing her a space to grow in the physical sense. If anything it was probably her that should have taken a hiatus from me haha. She ended up helping me get my community teachers qualification and organizing me a whole lot more than I was. She wasn't there for mental support - only physical.
If say the support that I was giving her was similar to the support that I gave some of the guys in my last job then I would probably not have stayed in contact - I have a couple of guys that keep trying to friend me on Facebook now but I can't because even although I helped them immensely - I know too much haha!
Legally, I've always worked under that I can do anything I want when they leave our services because it's never been as intensive as what you provide - if I think people need your type of support then it's something I'm expected to mention and so forth.
That makes sense. I am sure you followed the guidelines of what you could and could not do.
I did - when it comes to humans I don't like to bend the rules ;)
Fun and interesting show. Thanks for answering my question! For my next question I thought I might change it up a bit and ask you about the Steemit Bloggers. Since thats where we met it seemed appropriate. Maybe next episode I'll ask you something about Scotland again, but if you don't mind I'd love to hear what you think about the Steemit Bloggers community. How and why you joined the group, what you think about it so far, and maybe where you see it evolving in the future. Thanks!
I'll answer that tomorrow my friend :)
