Why do you steemit?

Man things sure have changed since that summer morning in May of 2017, that was when I started.

Back then things where a lot smaller, most of all, the post payouts. This was before the vote bot, the only thing we had was good ole @randowhale. This place has gotten serious in 8 short months.

But why are you Here? See I started because I needed something different, something not everyone was invovled in. I have been a silver gold invester for a good little while. Never really believing that steemit would grow so fast. After a few short weeks on steemit, it takes that long just to figure it out. I stumbled on a group of steemians that had a passion for precious metals. Few weeks after that #steemsilvergold was born and this is where I pretty much call home. Now steemit has always been an investment for me, I can remember when steem was valued at a big ole .68 cents. And now we are finally reaching a true market value for steem and SBD.

So why do I steemit? Well it's simple financial protection. Making money on steemit was never really my intention, I wanted to buy financial protection. How does one do this you might ask, well that's simple as well. It's called silver and gold and you can buy both of these with crypto currencies.

The friendships where a unexpected bonus.

Man are there some AWESOME people on steemit, so very blessed to be here and build the friendships that I have gained. This is priceless to me, you can not compare the worth of this to anything else.

To the newbies

My one piece of advice that I can offer is this. Stay consistant, stay clam and don't worry about growing to fast, your time will come.

Now on to the pictures, this is everything that I have bought with crypto's, most of which has come from steemit, so for those of you you don't believe that steemit is real, it is very much real with some true value to it.

I originally started here because I heard Steemit was an up and coming crypto that everyone was talking about. Shortly afterward, I found @steemsilvergold and I've been hooked ever since. I have enjoyed the great ideas others have, the exchange news and information, the fellowship of other stackers, and the camaraderie as we show off our newest acquisitions to one another.

I can't imagine a day going by when I don't check in with @steemsilvergold.

I'm here because I'm tired of typical social media, especially facebook which I don't know why I haven't just stopped using altogether. It's the only way I keep up with a few people who I don't really keep in touch with otherwise.

But back to steemit...yeah obviously the rewards lured me in like many, but as I learned more about it I discovered little sub communities like SSG, a group of runners, people who like yoga, photographers, travelers, artists, and many other.

I've been hooked on this platform ever since I joined in July 2017 and if it weren't for my demanding day job I'd spend a lot more time here. I loaded up on STEEM back in the fall when it was $0.80-1.50 and despite some jitters back in November about the long term viability of the price and the platform, I now realize this may have been one of the best decisions I've ever made (to join, to blog, to earn, to interact, etc).

With the SBD price being what it is even with modest payouts it translates into a pretty good sized payout in terms of USD. That and the curation rewards which are smaller now because of the SBD price phenomenon.

I hope that someday blogging here will help supplement my income to the point where I don't have to sell my soul to the corporate American devil 40-60 hours a week in exchange for a decent living. I see a lot of potential here. My time is limited and precious but I never see time spent here as wasted, no matter the return on it.

I Steemit because it is the only place I can interact with like minded people while learning about from experts in the cryptosphere! I’ve learned more in the past 10 months about cryptocurrencies than in the previous 3 years. Like you I have been a stacker of metals for a while, but I didn’t know there were other stackers in the world really until coming here! Thanks to steemsilvergold we are able to communicate and share or knowledge with each other!

I created my steemit account in July 2017. I didn't see people commenting on my post, so i went back to my comfort zone on youtube. Well I am back to give it another try. I like interaction with other people about coins and metals. It's a little hard when you get no comments. I am going to be a little more Patient. Any advice?

Great to read about your journey and the shiny you’ve been able to buy due to Steemit.

I joined in July because I kept hearing about Steemit on YouTube. Man, were my posts bad back then (still not great now but getting better). Stumbled on #steemsilvergold and knew I was home.

That was a great post Ray. I'm here because Ray won't let me leave. Please! Somebody help me, I'm trapped!

The proof is in the putting ray. You got a nice pile of silver there that you but with SBD and that is awesome. I have also made some great friends in my silver Journey that I hope will last forever. Great post and thanks for the advice. Rock on !!👍🏻

@raybrockman ....steemit is our bright future.....

Thanks the post & share with us
