How to make a Sprinkler Frog (DIY)

in #fishing7 years ago

Being unable to purchase the Teckel Sprinkler Frog, I have decided to make my own.

For those who don't know what this is, it's a Hollow body frog that have a Paddle tail that rotates at the end. Almost like the River2Sea Whopper Plopper but completely weedless!

The product debuted recently, but the video of it generated the biggest hype ever! It was sold out immediately after it release.

I wanted the lure so badly, but I wasn't going to pay 50 dollars on Ebay for it. (currently sold 39.99 during this post on Steemit). With that said, I went out and purchased all the things that I needed to make this. Here are the list of items:

Frog - Booya Pad Crasher
Split Rings: Size 6-8 (depending on frog hook size)
Swivels - Spro Power Swivels Size 8 (may need larger size depending on split ring thickness
Bait Saver - Owner CPS Size M (u can definitely use other brands, but this seems most similar to Teckel Sprinkler)
Paddle Tail Swimbait - Using PowerTeam Lures 4.8 " JP Swinging Hammer, will be trying others soon, stay tuned!
Glue - some sort of glue to plug the holes of the frog
Split ring pliers - makes life easier

Making it is very simple and You can do it in minutes! The only thing that takes a while is the curing of the selected glue to cover the holes where the silicone strands once were.
