STEEMPUNK-NET blurb suggestions (part 8)

Suggestions for additional descriptive text for the steempunk-net game battle messages.

This is the final part in the series. As I mentioned in part 1, when you begin to participate in a lot of battles, you also start to see the same messages over and over even in rotation, so I feel it would now help to offer additional, fresh new messages to the mix; while adding even more fun and humour to the game, especially because this may help hold the interest of both newer and older players.

I have split the blurbs & their associated suggestions up into topical clusters because of length, over 8 posts.

So for consideration in part 8 I present first a list of the original texts, to give context, and then my suggestions as additions.

Visually, this is an example of what the messages look like for a battle loser.

This piece of descriptive text informs the battle loser just what went down.

Battle Loser texts:

1. you're tasting the bitter flavour of defeat. you lost to (name)
2. sweat drips into your face, your lungs burn from exertion, and the metallic taste of blood spreads in your mouth. defeated, you collapse. (name) has finished you.
3. one shot hits you and pierces you like burning metal. before you even know what happened, your legs give in underneath you and your eyes turn black. (name) killed you in the duel.
4. you look around in a hurry. you lost track of your opponent. suddenly one shot - and you collapse, struck down. (name) caught you!
5. panting you attack, but (name) is faster than you. with a lightning-fast movement (name) fires and hits you. you're breaking down.
6. you fought bravely, but (name) was just smarter than you. teeth grinding, you have to surrender.
7. you are badly wounded and have no chance against (name). with a face distorted by pain, you surrender.
8. you're bleeding from countless wounds. your ears are rushing and it's turning black in front of your eyes. the last thing you see is how (name) victoriously raises his arms and lets the audience celebrate.
9. the audience cheers mockingly as you go down in the clockwork arena. i hope none of your friends will see you in this dark hour. you will not forgive this defeat by (name)
10. the roar of the audience cheers on (name) when you chased through the arena. a sudden pain twitches you as (name)'s shot hits you. you crash into the sand, rumbling. you've lost!
11. you fall to the ground in front of (name)'s feet. in front of you the bloody sand of the clockwork arena. in your nose: the smell of sulfur and gunpowder. in your ears: the mocking laughter of the audience. You failed!

Battle Loser Suggestions:

1. Waving a white flag, you surrender to (name) in humiliation. No chocolates and champagne for you this day.
2. Oh no, the sun was in your eyes. (name) was able to get the upper hand in your battle and you were defeated.
3. What a debacle that fight was. The crowd was not pleased that you went down so easily. Train harder before the next battle.
4. Your bid to conquer (name) failed horribly. UltimaCorp is now aware of your setback and have noted it in your files.
5. The roar of the crowd distracted you, and you tripped in the sand, crashing to your knees. The sudden pain dulled your senses and (name) was able to strike a death blow. Bad luck.
6. In a sneaky move (name) throws mud into your eyes and you are momentarily blinded. Even as the crowd boos (name) they take this advantage to exterminate you.
7. Even though you trained hard and fought well, luck was not with you in the Clockwork Arena today. You limp off home with the metallic taste of defeat in your mouth; but vowing revenge upon (name). A bubble bath might lift your spirits.
8. Vanquished? no, how could this happen! the potion you took was false, and (name) was able to win this battle against you. There follows a great wailing and gnashing of teeth.
9. You now think about leaving town in a hurry, after the thrashing you just had in front of the large crowd, by (name). defeat tastes extremely bitter.

Also as I mentioned in part 1, it is possible that more texts could easily be incorporated, on a rotational basis, to keep things fresh every few months or so. It may indeed be necessary to review the texts after each new round of ideas are implemented, such as clothing, weapons, potions, pets and other shop items.
