Siddhirganj murder wife and two daughters: remand remand husband
The court granted three days remand to the husband of Masud Dewan, arrested in connection with the murder of first wife and two daughters in Siddhirganj in Narayanganj. Narayanganj Judicial Magistrate Mahmudul Mohsin was produced before the court on Monday for his 10-day remand, while the court granted the three-day remand after hearing the case.
Narayanganj court of the police sub-committee Kamal Hossain remand confirmed the matter. Earlier on Sunday, the arrested cousin of the Killing Mission Sabuj alias Sohail gave confessional statement to Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashik Imam.
The arrested Masud Dewan is the son of Khalilur Rahman of Chandpur's South Shashali area of Faridganj Police Station. Another arrested cousin Sabuj alias Sohail is the son of Swapan Mia of Fatua area of Khaliajuri thana of Netrokona.
The deceased were identified as Masud's wife Anjubi Akhter (28), daughter of Solaiman in the Padua area of Senbagh in Noakhali, and her two daughters were identified as Maida Akter, 7, and Mahi, 15 months old.
Police said, Masud Dewan hired six-storied West South flat of Kabir Mia's house at Ati Housing Mosque of Siddhirganj. He married his girlfriend Shobha Akter, in the same way as his first wife, Anjubi Akhter. There was a quarrel between them. After this, he planned to kill his second wife, Shobha Akter and cousin Salka Sabuj alias Sohel, and kill his first wife, Anjubi Akhter. According to the plan, on June 9, his second wife and cousin were initially strangled to death Anjubi Akhter. Later, the elder daughter Maida and the younger daughter Mahi were also strangled. Then the body of Anjubi Akter was dropped by the body of Siddhirganj Barmastand Bhangaripul on the outskirts of DND Kennel and the bodies of two children were thrown into a pond in Siddhirganj area.
On June 11, police recovered the body of Anjubi Akhter (28) from the drum on the side of the DNG irrigation canal in Bhangarpul area of Siddhirganj. Then on June 16, Ali Mohammed's body was found floating in the fish farm, 15 months old child Mahir Muradhe and on 18 June a child lying on the same farm in the same area, the child Mohammed (7) was found hanging from his hand and legs. After the operation, the assassin Masud Dewan and cousin Sadak Sabuj alias Sohel were arrested. Among them, Sabuj alias Sohel has confessed to the murder of the court.
Additional Superintendent of Police of Narayanganj said. Sharfuddin said, the court granted a three-day remand for interrogation for questioning Masud Dewan. But his second wife Shobva is absconding.
