The European goldfinch or simply the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

It was very difficult to take these pictures. The goldfinch itself is rather shy and distrustful of people, so as soon as he saw that I was going in his direction, he immediately took off and flew away.

This was in July 2017, near a forest located by a large river. There is an open place, something like small meadows, and this place is very fond of different warblers (Acrocephalus).
Also there grows a lot of thistle, which love the goldfinches. I noticed that a pair of goldfinches sit on them, fly from plant to plant. It was not possible to approach them, so I had to lie down in the grass and hide.
I waited a long time until they came back, after they were scared of me. And so, they returned and began to enjoy eating thistle seeds. And they ate with such an appetite that they got dirty, and did not pay attention to the click of the shutter of the camera.
