The ruff (Calidris pugnax)
Let's go back to the big river.
Being on a cliff, I decided to relax. And I saw how these long-legged guys roam on the already reduced river. Around the autumn, our city river slowly decreases, exposing large boulders.
I went down from the shore, and gently jumped over the stones and water through the mud.

This is the place.

Jumping a considerable path, I still got to the places where these waders went.
It was a small flock of about 10 birds. They migrated to warm countries using the river as a route and landmark.
Long legs allow them to walk on shallow reservoirs, and with a long beak they pull insects out of mud, water, and crevices.
