The common starling (Sturnus vulgaris), also known as the European starling

Beautiful large bird with unusual iridescent plumage. Migrant, arrives in early May, when there is no snow, and quite warm. Prefers to nest near settlements, farms, villages, and on the outskirts of cities, where caring people create "nesting boxes" for them.

Look at how vigorously he runs through the foliage, and looks under each leaf, under each blade of grass. So he searches for his favorite fat caterpillars!

Starling females arrive later, and flocks of birds fall into pairs.
Sexual dimorphism is weak, and almost imperceptible. At the base of the beak, females have red dots, while males have a blue spot.
