Slate – Experience Entertainment in A Better Way with Blockchain Technology

Overview:

Slate Entertainment group (SEG) has two subsidiaries: BINGE media Corporation and SLATIX solution. This project is focused in the development of the entertainment industry using blockchain technology. Hollywood is the centre of entertainment for the people, however theatres, televisions and all such entertainment platforms lost its glory to Subscription video on demand (SVOD) platforms like Netflix and Amazon prime as the time passed. The centralized SVOD platforms still consists of flaws and due to this SEG is aiming to make it a decentralized system. SEG will initiate the peer to peer content delivery network. BINGE will be blockchain video on demand platform and SLATIX will be an electronic ticketing application. SLATE will be the utility token of this ecosystem.

Problems:

• The SVOD platforms like Netflix are dominating the entertainment industry today which leaves little negotiation power with the content creators. The content creators do not get their deserved profit and are forced to accept the payment agreement which is given by these SVOD platforms.
• Today purchasing tickets have shifted to digital platforms. These digital platform which eases the process of ticket purchase charges 20% service fees. Fraudulency has also been increased due to online purchases as it is difficult to figure out the authenticity of the tickets.

Solution:

• BINGE which is the blockchain video on demand will provide a platform for the content creators where they will be compensated equally for their work. It will also offer consumers lowers subscription fees as compared to centralized SVOD.
• SLATIX is a decentralized ticketing solution which will eliminate the frauds taking place during online ticket purchases. Blockchain stores and shares the data once stored and does not allow any user to manipulate it. This will provide counterfeit-proof tickets to the users. Enterprises will also get benefits from SLATIX as they can sell and verify blockchain based tickets and target the right audience based on analytics provided by this platform. The service fees will be far lesser than the fees charged by centralized digital platform.

The Slate Ecosystem:

SLATE:
SLATE, the utility token of this ecosystem will be used by consumers to get access to premium entertainment. SLATE token will be used to pay BINGE subscriptions, to carry out transactions and to buy the tickets which will be offered by SLATIX.

BINGE:
BINGE will be the decentralized streaming platform. Blockchain being the transparent technology here will help to understand the behaviour of consumers to understand their likes and preference. This will help content creators to deliver better content to the consumers.

SLATIX:
SLATIX will be digital ticketing platform which will give rewards and incentives to the user. SLATIX will provide many benefits to the users such as giving them discounts, tickets purchased for movies, concerts or plays will not be susceptible to frauds.

Marino is co-founder of Slate Entertainment Group and CEO of North Hollywood Films. Marino’s entertainment industry experience includes the production of television and motion pictures. He has helped with the financing of both Hollywood and Toronto based production companies, and with the negotiation of foreign sales and distribution deals.
