Wind Farm

Scotland smashed renewable energy records in the first half of 2017. Renewable energy provided enough power to provide for over 3 million homes. This also represented an increase of 24 percent over the previous record.

Scotland has enormous offshore wind resources. They just installed the world's first floating wind farm, which opens up a whole field of new possibilities for renewable growth. The renewable field now employs 58,000 people in Scotland.

Of that generation, wind generated the equivalent of 57% of Scotland's demand. Since this time last year, there has been a 13 percent increase in electricity generation. However, capacity increased by 16 percent, which indicates that generation may be able to reach even higher.
