FTC Oregon State Championship

Sadly, my team, the Infinity Angles did not advance, but they gave a great showing. I think they scored 13th of 46 teams in the competition portion of the championship. We had to overcome flaky batteries and a broken wire right before a match, but they handled it with quickly and calmly. I was proud of how hard they competed. They were competing against teams who scored 1st and 3rd in nationals, so it was a tough field. It is the first time their team has made it all the way to state, so they can certainly be proud of their accomplishments.

Next school year will be a brand new competition, but we all get a break for a while. There is some definite interest to learn Java from two of the existing team and two up and coming middle schoolers, so I hope to run some type of Java lessons over summer. I'll have to figure out a format that will work. It's a good thing I like teaching programming.
