One thing I like in China
. . . is the beer! I'm not sure if it qualifies as GOOD beer, or if it would sell as LIGHT beer in other countries, but it comes in LARGE bottles (usually 500 ml or more), sells cheaply (usually less than 75¢USD), low alcohol content, and tastes roughly like an adult kool-aid. That is, it goes down quite nicely with dinner, and won't affect the drive home at only 3 - 3.5% alcohol. The price has held constant the whole time I've been here (since 2009) - UNTIL NOW.
The Chinese local beers are all quite good, though, and are usually my first choice, over American, and even most European beers.
Except for Tsingtao, which is my LEAST favorite beer, which I won't order under ANY circumstances, since it;s TOO BITTER for my taste.

Snow is apparently the world's best selling beer
But I'll never buy it to bring home - for that, I stick with my FAVORITE anywhere - is the Mönchshof Schwarzbier from Germany - a real beer, at 4.9% alcohol. It is available for order from Taobao. Right now, I've got about a six month supply safely stashed away to drink when I cook myself a steak.
The beer situation in China appears to be at least partially the result of a policy AGAINST living things - e.g., bacteria, yeast, and other microbes - in your food, which seems to affect the cheese, and yogurt, as well as the beer that can be sold in China.
Anyway, like I'm saying - they've got me covered for beer.
