Why You Should Participate in #spud4steem

I was a lucky winner of #spud4steem in July. I won third place and I received an 1800 SP delegation from @bippe @ciska and @kiwi-crypto also a 25$ upvote from @steemcurator01.

Sometimes you may think, why you should do this. I will tell you why I did this.

As we know Power Up is the process of converting liquid Steem into STEEM POWER. Before my power up in last July 1st, my steem power was 332. I wanted to increase my power from the beginning but I wanted to do it in a more meaningful way. I selected #spud4steem day to do my powerup so that I could be a winner as well as I could increase my steem power.

Steem Power is the power for our account. During my early days, I remember I faced a situation of lack of resource credits due to less SP. I remember my votes were 0.00$ worth at the beginning. But by the time when my SP amount increased, it started to receive more and more curation rewards to the wallet. Just after #spud4steem it increased significantly.

I quoted below part from Steemit White Paper which describes the importance of Steem Power

"When users vote on content, their influence over the distribution of the rewards pool is directly proportional to the amount of SP that they have. Users with more SP have more influence on the distribution of rewards. This means that SP is an access token that grants its holders exclusive powers within the Steem platform.

SP holders are also paid interest on the balance of SP that remains vested. 15% of the yearly inflation is paid to SP holders as interest. The amount of the interest that they receive is directly proportional to the amount of SP they hold relative to the total amount of vested SP across all users"

How to get Steem to power up

As many new members are here, it is better to write about how we can get Steem to power up. Obviously you can purchase Steem from an exchange. Or you can also convert your SBD into STEEM.

DO NOT DO POWER DOWN TO MAKE STEEM BEFORE COMPETITION

A hint

In July #spud4steem day was very competitive. Many people participated and there were very good powerups. This time the least available SP to eligibility is 50SP. If you are a member who has Steem power between 50SP-100SP you can build an opportunity for winning by increasing your steem power with a good amount. (Do it on August 1st🤭)

I will also try to do a powerup in this August 1st!

Extra Oppertunities

How can I forget @stephenkendal. Last time he organized a sub competition to select the best promotional post for #spud4steem . There were many entries like gifs, videos, graphics, memes, and photos. Three winners received prices from SBD. I think he will organize it this time too.
