The Difference Between Vesak Moon and Ramadan Moon
I remember the day I saw the "හන්තානට පායන සඳ" five years back. I have seen sunset an uncountable number of times but never saw the sunrise. Then how about the moon rise?
Since the day I started to earn money on my own, I wanted to visit to the North. But each time I couldn't make it due to various reasons. To see the incredible things that you can't see in the South and West you must go to the North and Eastern parts of the country.
My work partner lives in Trincomalee with his cute family. During my work period, I have met him only five-six times but virtually we are always good friends.
On Vesak day, he sent me the coolest Vesak wish that filled me with full of satisfaction.
"Happy Vesak Moon 🌕" He sent..
It was the freshly blooming moon from Kinniya Beach Side! I stopped for a while and searched through all my memories to recall a day that I have seen the rising moon. I have never seen a rising moon before even from a photo. Even I haven't ever thought of it.
"Can I use your photos to write a poem?"
"All permissions are granted", his reply was quite simple. After a few minutes, he sent me some more photos of a partially raised moon. It was such a beautiful scene that filled me with supper excitement to visit East.
"Little Bit Up Now," He said
The beauty of the moon remains the same everywhere. The difference is how we see its beauty.
It is the same Ramadan moon that he saw two weeks back. The only difference is his Ramadan moon is crescent and my Vesak moon is full. The values remain the same!
