I remember the first time I came to university alone. I was standing from Panadura till katubedda because I had no idea about the distance. Those days there was a huge garbage mountain on the ground which used to gather garbage around the area. within our second year, this place started to get change. The urban council started a project to remove the garbage and build a walking track there. I don't remember exactly whether there was a lake or not and, what happened with the garbage.

Anyway the final outcome was a clean beautiful walking track, around a lake.

Everyone who lives around knows this place very well, so I don't need to talk about the length and width of the ground. This one is located near the Piliyandala Rd, which is very crowded during peak hours. But thankfully the park is not disturbed by the noises of the vehicles.

Even they did, still, you can have a natural experience for a while at this park. If you walk slowly, you can spend around 7mins to completing a full circle around the lake. But I prefer, sitting on benches and watching at herons and other birds.

Even though it is burning during the daytime, evening walks can give you the best experience. I visit there in the moments that "Sun is about to die". In this location, you can see the number of birds including herons, kingfishers, ducks, and some others who live close to water. Some time ago, I saw a crocodile in the lake who came in with the flood.

Lake is full of bigger fish. It's so beautiful to see how they gather together and open their mouths up from water surface.

There are multiple channels that join this lake. As I noticed, garbage is still coming to this lake through the channels. Even though this place is very beautiful, we can still see the ghosts of garbage in channels and even in the main lake.

Imagine how difficult to get rid of dirt even if this place is reborn with a new face!

As I understood, the designers have paid attention to get avoid garbage as much as possible. Perhaps the collected garbage might be removed from time to time. Still, you can forget the garbage and pardon them and walk.

I saw a huge collection of plastic bottles on one side. I wish if I could know what is the real situation here, I know nothing.

But still, this place is an amazing makeover, which built the beauty of the city back. If you forget the remaining garbage, you have fresh wind, beautiful scenery, and lots of birds here. This is a good place for the young couple to hang out in the evening while looking at the sunset.

We should never attempt to hide the real beauty of nature. We can't do it and if we do, it's not fair.

I saw a crocodile in the lake who came in with the flood.

this is very dangerous, crocodiles can attack anyone who approaches, he is good at hiding under water.

අඩේ ඇවිදින්න, පොටෝ ගහන්න ගියාට දැන් නේ දන්නේ කෝමද තැන හැදුනේ කියලා 🙉🙉

Yes, it was a huge transformation. I also remember how much rubbish was left there.

"I saw a huge collection of plastic bottles on one side. I wish if I could know what is the real situation here, I know nothing."

Who is responsible for this? Not any other..
only human beings

As I noticed, garbage is still coming to this lake through the channels.

This is the pathetic side of our country. Selfish peoples.
