Furniture Window Shopping First Attempt

Last Sunday we started our price research for furniture. We all have our dream furniture setup which we love to have in our houses. After a long wait, we visit some shops for a little experience. First of all, we followed a number of furniture shops via Facebook and went through hundreds of furniture ideas. Finally, we both agreed on particular specific designs which look attractive and suit to shape of our house. I am not going to reveal our dream designs yet.

The next part of the process was seeking some prices from different sellers. We checked with some sellers from Facebook and took prices for designs that fit to our requirements. Then we assigned a budget for each component, the sofa, dining set, and bedroom set as per the quotation we received.

We were planning to visit some shops on the way to moratuwa. The first furniture showroom we stopped name Sampath Furniture. It was located near Keels Panadura. Actually there designs looked very neat and high quality. They explained us every thing very well and gave us plenty of design and color ideas.

The sofa you see in the first photo estimated as 240 000 LKR without the coffee table. We found that their prices are beyond our budget but their service seems really good.

Then we visited ENEX Moratuwa, but we didn't get a good welcome or support from their showroom. So we left without spending much time.

Then we went ceylon furniture show room in Katubedda. It is a very big showroom with four floors full of furniture.

The problem is there prices were extremely high. The price of a sofa similar to first picture costed nearly 300 000 LKR here. They both use fabric of same supplier but here costs are very high. We even could find a dining table set with a cool design less than 200 000 here.

This shop is totally out of our budget, but we pointed some good dining table ideas from this shop.

Even though we wanted to visit many shops we only managed to visit three shops. Probably next time we can go after proper planning. But we had a good experience from this first visit about materials, and designs.
