100 Followers! Thank You For the Support!

Well, I already did my daily quota of one post today, but I felt the need to do another because I'm thrilled to hit the 100 follower milestone and blow past it (well 102 since those last three came all at the same time). Thank you all who have supported me by following, upvoting, commenting and resteeming my posts. It's been a fun ride getting used to the new platform and finally beginning to fulfill my goal (about 10 years running now) of starting a successful blog. I've always been a believer in the magic of decentralized decision-making and free market economics (something that's gotten me shunned elsewhere), and it's been beautiful watching the positive human interactions develop out of these theoretical constructs when put into real world practice. The results exceed my wildest expectations here, and that's even with the hiccups and flaws that have emerged in the system since Steemit.com went live with the beta versions.

It's an honor to be a part of this since very early on, and it's been quite rewarding in the monetary sense as well. I spent much more time and money on YouTube doing auto repair videos, generated tens of thousands of views, and was rewarded with significantly less over several years than what I've gotten just having fun and shooting the breeze on Steemit. That's not to mention my attempt at blogging on Blogger (which I probably had about as much time into as I do so far on Steemit) and having my content fail monetization due to its political content, then having Google's algorithms bury the content for the same reasons. Don't even get me started on the waste of time that has been Facebook over the years trying to use it to give my other social media some traction. They just bury those posts as well. After all of that drama on other sites, Steemit seems like home to me, and it sure doesn't seem like work to spend time here.

I see the 100 follower milestone as a beginning that will lead to bigger and better things for me as a writer. I realize that I have a lot more to learn about generating this type of content and I'm eager to learn more and continue to gain experience. I get discouraged from time to time, but this kind of support and the ability to flourish in a healthy environment is the repeated positive motivation that will keep me coming back and trying harder every time.
