Amazing Homemade Bacon
We have finally succeeded in making our own beef bacon. Well actually this is the first year that we have tried to make our own bacon but it worked. Here is how we made it. https://steemit.com/homesteading/@shalomacres/how-are-we-using-the-cow-part-4-beef-bacon
After making it we had to slice it. To do this we used a cheap meat slicer that surprisingly worked really well. We had 25 pounds of bacon to slice and bag.
While we were cutting up the bacon I decided to fry some to eat for breakfast. I did four pieces and as you can see the homemade beef bacon closely resembles regular store bacon.
After a few minutes on the skillet the bacon started to pop and crackle.
A few minutes later I flipped them and move them around on the skillet so the ones on the edge could get to the hot spot on the burner.
After another minute or so the bacon was ready. It looked really good and we were all excited to try it.
We successfully made bacon that tastes amazing and acts and cooks like store bacon. Altogether we got 28 bags of bacon with 12 pieces in each bag.

Now that's a LOT of pork!!!
I remember the first time I munched on my first bite of homemade/homegrown bacon! My mouth is watering just remembering!
This is actually beef and it was amazing.
We r going to try this next time we butcher a cow. We do not eat pork. This looks amazing.
We used all of the fatty meat to do this with so that it would have some grease to fry in. Thank you.
You defiantly need the grease/fat! Turkey bacon is terrible!!!
Hey if its any better than turkey bacon (and cardboard is better than turkey bacon) then its a winner ;-)
Haha. Be nice.
