Local Wanderings - Winefest Weekend!
This weekend is one I have been looking forward to for some time. We drove a few hours away to Schweitzer Ski Resort for the annual Winefest. Not only is the scenery excellent, it's also a great chance to see the resort when there ISN'T snow on the ground. Not that I mind skiing, but after a long winter, it's nice to enjoy some sunnier/warmer weather.
But let's get to the FEST!
First of all, this isn't some drunken party time...though if that is something that appeals to you, there is ample accommodation for you to never have to leave the fest. But, this is rather family friendly, with lots of activities for the kids: zip-lining, horseback rides, bouncy houses, and even some inflatable hamster-ball in a pool thing.
If you feel up for a little hike, the chairlift is open and will take you to the summit where a lodge is there for you to take in the views and maybe grab a little something to eat! This picture shows the bottom of the chairlift. Can you see where it goes to the top?
As you approach the main event area, you first pass through a bunch of vendor tents selling everything from pillows, sunglasses, crafts, and food.
In this area, kids can also enjoy a climbing wall and bungee jump contraption. Moving into the main area, there is a common plaza area surrounded by all the mountain lodges which house hotel rooms as well as cafes, restaurants, apparel stores, and even realtors.
You'll also see all the white canopies where about 30 different wineries pour samples of their wines. You, too, could enjoy some samples by simply paying $25 for a wine glass. It also comes with tickets for 6 free samples. Music also fills the air as a live band plays to the crowd.
And speaking of real estate...this home just came on the market and could be yours for just $1,695,000!
But you can probably consider it a bargain because of the million dollar view!

Hi Greg, Really good post and had to look up where Schweitzer Ski Resort was...
When I found out it was in Idaho... omg, it brought back memories of a summer trip that traversed much of the country, starting in San Francisco out to Idaho and many other areas of the USA during that 4 week excursion.
Again Thank You 4 sharing and speaking of sharing... if You are open, would like to share the most efficient ways to promote Your posts.

First get to know & register with MSP, the Minnow Support Program and the people at P.A.L. in discord where Steem.Chat is also located... timing is everything as they say. Usually around 7pm to 9pm EST during the week is a good time because that's when alot of the BIG Hitters on Steemit will post and they do this for a reason (don't re-invent the wheel, just follow their lead)
When You post, then hangout with the people at PAL that You have already gotten to know & supported their posts over the last 2-3 weeks and let them know that You've just posted something.
