Can it be stopped? Only if you turn off the internet. Can that be done? No, because to many things will not work anymore.
I'm not discounting the huge opportunity that cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology brings to the table, it's incredible. However, any market goes into a bubble at some point, but that doesn't mean the cryptocurrency markets won't continue growing after that. I will not be surprised to see e.g. bitcoin at $5000.
