What is Calamansi

Hey guys :) Since I move to summer country I'm enjoying swimming, sun tanning, and drinking coconut juice everyday :) I miss cold weather a little bit though, oh except taking cold shower in the morning lol. There is another thing that I'm enjoying every day here in Vietnam is drinking Calamasi juice.

Calammansi is a citrus fruit that has many effects such as detox and diet, as well as prevention of high blood pressure and vascular disease etc, soooo many positive effects. I asked my friends who from Canada if they have never seen or heard of it before and they said no. It's super popular in Asia these days so I was surprised to hear that.

When I first came to Vietnam, I went to a super market and I saw a woman bought a basket of green fruit that looks like a little orange but green. So I looked online at home because I was so curious about it, and turned out it was fresh calamansi!! I used to buy the calamasi juice in Korea, but I've never seen or tried of fresh Calamasi before. For anyone who's curious about the taste of Calamansi, it taste similar to lemon and lime but more sour I think. I heard the fresh Calamasi is way healthier than the juice so I'm drinking it everyday. I usually mix 1L of water with 13-14 fresh calamasi and leave it for 15 minuets and drink it. If you never tried Calamasi I highly recommend you to try it! It's not only just good for your body it's also so delicious :D

Do you add sugar? I love Calamansi.. There is another similar Calamansi in vietnam that I tried before but it is a bigger fruit and the colour of the water much more orange.

Hi sweetie! :) I usually don't like sugary drinks so I don't add any sugar! Oh yeah? There is a few citrus in Vietnam that I've never seen! I have to study about it hehe :)

It is more delicious than Lime Or Lemon because of its intense Citrus flavor @ramengirl.
Pretty good for marinades and to squeeze one in stir-fried noodles or rice gruel too 😉👍

Ohhhh yeah!!! I've never used it for marinades but I'll def gonna try it! Thanks for great tip! :D
