U.S. Propaganda, looking at it from the inside.

in #money8 years ago

I was wondering, if any of you who live inside the United States, (either born here and lived here your whole life or are from a different country and have lived here for many years now) have been indoctrinated if you will into this notion that anything the U.S. does is for the greater good of the world or anything that we do is for peace? I've always been told this by the media, teachers, majority of friends, even other family members that whatever the U.S. does, it is for peace and if your against the U.S. then by definition your against peace.

Sort:

I grew up overseas and I don't see much difference here than many other places in terms of nationalism. Everywhere I have been has had people who have been proud of their country and others who are disgruntled by certain aspects. And in terms of the US, look at Texas for example - they are pushing for a Texit!

There are a lot of people here in the US who do not agree with many things our government is doing. But the everyday person doesn't know what they can do to change anything.

I certainly had such an environment around me growing up. I am 45 now and long ago started believing that. In fact I view almost all mainstream media as propaganda pushing for agendas that I don' particularly care for.

One way or the other US is gonna get what it wants. That's the way we do it and have always done it. Clitarry and Hump are going to take it up a notch that's all! Wait and see!

This is not a bad thing. What is wrong with alittle nationalism. Besides, i do believe in most cases the interests of the US are morally correct. In most cases the actions of the US are in everyones best interest. It is only against that backdrop do we feel betrayed when someone inevedibly goes of the reservation.

Don't believe it for a minute. Peel back the layers and I guarantee you will see ugly things.
