The Argentine star, Lonele Messi, hopes to keep his spell on the new year, where he faces many challenges both personally and with Barcelona.

The Spanish newspaper AS reported that Barcelona had set seven challenges for the Argentinian star to achieve during the new year.

The Hundred :

Messi will be on a new mission to reach goal 100 in the Champions League.
Messi currently has 97 goals and will have to score three goals to enter the 100th European Championship.
Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has crossed the 100-goal mark and has raised 114 points. Messi will of course try to score more goals in the hope of catching up with him.

Champions League:
The second challenge is to win the Champions League for the fifth time in the history of Messi and sixth in the history of Barça.

Messi won the title with Barcelona in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015 and will add a new title this season to his impressive record.

Casillas Record:

Messi will have a difficult task of breaking the record for former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who has 334 victories in La Liga.

Messi has reached 301 victories, so he will have to win in 33 meetings, the Catalan team may be running 40 games this year in the competition, which makes it difficult but not impossible.

Golden Shoe and Liga goal In the final:
