Vengeful Samurai

Another old picture I drew so long ago. (っ´▽`)っ This was the time when I was taking Japanese in high school. Watching anime and being able to speak Japanese. For some reason, looking at this picture reminds me of watching Samurai Champloo. That show was soooo awesome back in the day. It also got me into Nujabes's instrumental music. Every time I draw I would always listen to his music. Nujabes, plus drawing, equals a surreal experience. The Japanese characters that's on the samurai's helmet, is my name in Japanese, It says Richard.

\( ̄O ̄) Okay, so the process for this picture is lightly drawing it in pencil, outlining it in ink, and then using a red prisma marker to outline outside the black ink. I think the most tricky part about this picture was trying to have smooth lines, because on some parts of this picture, it has rigidity lines. It can be quite challenging to focus your hand with that much precision. So after that I just filled the samurai's mouth with ink,(uhh that sounded kind of weird (┛ಠДಠ)┛) it was a long process to fill that particular space with just a 0.7 pen. Then I just made it look like there was a blood splatter.

Well, that's all for today, and thank you for reading my post. Until next time, see you.

Great piece! Samurai Champloo is my favorite anime, next to Cowboy Bepop (same director!) This is very reminiscent of that style.

Nujabes was one of a kind, for sure. He created an entire genre.

Thank you @calendula. Nujabes will forever be close to my heart.

Thank you. Sadly, my skill for Japanese is slowly fading away, but I definitely need to get back into it.
