Path of Exile | Act 2: The Clumsy Shadow Continues His Adventure

in #gaming6 years ago (edited)

Hello, people. Here I am with my Act 2 in Path of Exile. Still dressed like a hobo, still wielding two knives good for smearing butter, I made it to the Forest Encampment. A sunny, and less gloomy place than the first town, but the people here has more personalities.

Like this guy right here, Greust. Nice, handsome, and a well-mannered gentleman... if you close your eyes and imagine such a person other than this brute. Seriously, this guy seems like he will spit in your face for saying "good day!".

But I think there's more to him because Eramir, a wise old man who was an exile too and live in the Forest Encampment said Greust actually care about his people.

I tried the PvP by talking to Greust. My first match went well but as I kept playing I figured the PvP doesn't feel right. Most of the time I met ridiculously higher level players than me. If this is some sort of a compliment for me, I can't take it as such, because broken is what it is. So that's why no one really play PvP.

The PvP wasn't so good, to the Old Field I go. Apes, big rhino-like beasts, and walking scarecrows. They don't do anything much except to farm XP. But that's what I needed. I wasn't really following the quest at the moment and just slash through everything until I stumbled upon this floating lady.

She's a sculptor, an artist. She's one of the Forsaken Masters like Elreon and Haku. Her quest is for me to kill two corrupted creatures, then raise them back to live and bring them back to her because apparently her "sculpting" is thirsty... It's best not to think about it too hard.

After I fetch her the corpses for her to play with, I met Alva who was waiting for me. Just in time. I finished the last temporal incursion and it was time for us to enter the Temple of Atzoatl. Just in time. Judging by how I did my temporal incursion, Just in time, I assumed the enemies in the temple would be a pain in the rear. Just in time. And I was right. Just in time. With only two kitchen knives, abilities that don't match/support each other, armour that work best as grocery store bag, what could possibly go wrong? Just in time. Just in time indeed!

Soon as I entered the temple, many of the enemies are glowing purple, which means they're slightly overpowered. But even so, me and Alva smash! Blue? Red? Purple? Rainbow? Screw your glow, I'm raiding your home, plundering your treasures, and killing your people because I'm the good guy! Yeah!

Backstabbed the fucker. I felt like a proper assassin!

Thanks to my mistakes in the temporal incursions, the loot weren't that good. I was hoping I would wear something nice once I finished this dungeon, but I came out still holding the same shit. I did find some better weapons and armours, but I don't like their appearance so I sold them to Greust.

My other mistake is not opening most of the door with the Stone of Passage, resulting in me not being able to go into some of the rooms in the temple. Smart. I did however, manage to reach the boss room.

As trivial as it may seem, the props across the temple intrigues me to figure out what they are and what their origins. Such as that tiny pyramid thing above in the middle of a room with a statue facing it up the stairs in front of it. What are these? What's their purpose?

Why would someone put poisonous plants in the middle of the living room and store a teleportation device in it is beyond me.

It would be great if these particular objects are somehow explained, maybe through scattered notes or something, because they're standing out. Most of them don't look like some mere clutters to beautify the environment design.

What made me feel slightly better is beating the boss without dying. Well, it's not that tough of a boss fight, but I was so crap-levelled. I thought the boss would be some kind of giant chieftain or divine being or something, but it was this weird looking UFO.

I still have a long way in Act 2 as I didn't complete any of the available quests yet but this ends a part of it. Next time I'll deal with some bandits and do PvP again. I liked what I see in the game so far but the lack of meaning to some of them really put an itch to me as I think it would be much more awesome if they have something to tell.

And the PvP... I hope the matchmaking is better than putting me in a cramped arena with a player that 20+ levels above me that literally only need to walk past me to take me down.

Thanks for your time to read my post, and see you in the next one!

He's just being creepy. Games are times are packed with jaw-dropping discoveries. If only network were better, I would have dedicated more time to PVP games though

Creepy, or drunk. Can't figure out which is a houseplant and which is a refrigerator.
...wait.

I also have a 'lovely' internet connection here, but I could still play online game in certain times of the day.

It happens. We tend to get overly busy sometimes

Nice, I've been enjoying these travelogues, heh

Noice, I'm happy that you enjoyed it.
