One of the most distinctive features of Hydrangea macrophylla is its eye-catching flower clusters, known as "mopheads" or "lacecaps." Mophead hydrangeas consist of large, spherical clusters of flowers, while lacecap hydrangeas have a flat, open appearance with small, fertile flowers in the center surrounded by larger, sterile flowers on the outer edge.
