The Debate (Week 16); Plastics Vs Our Environment

Good day steemians

I'm so delighted to welcome you all to my blog today how are you doing I hope all is well and you all are in perfect health as for me I'm perfectly fine thanks for not asking 😂.

Today I will be taking part in another exciting edition of the debate contest week 16 organize by @sahmie which is titled "plastic vs our environment"

It is indeed an interesting choice of debate because in most countries plastics has greatly become a major threat to plants, animals as well as human existence as most people seems not to care and keep dumping and disposing them irregularly on the street regardless of the negative effects that comes with it.

Which in my today's entry I will be sharing base on my own point of view if the use of plastics should be banned 🚫 in other to protect our environment, so please read through my point of view and do well to give your feedback using the comments section.

Plastics Vs Our Environment

It is indeed true that plastics has definitely become an integral part of our lives since it is very affordable and also used in packaging of goods, for easy transportation both in commercial and individual realm.

But truth be told plastics can be recycled in other to be of more used to the masses that is why most industrial products have the above sign on it which indicates proper disposal for recycling purposes

But a situation whereby the masses on the other hand ignores the sign and chooses to dispose this plastics in a Carlos manner has been the major thing that has given room for plastic threats in our environment

And yes we all know that plastics takes a longer time to decompose and in a situation where this plastics are not properly dispose makes it to become a threat to living things and their environment

Imagine living close to such an environment in the above picture and also some of them being disposed in farms and due to their long term decomposing circle it turns out to affect plants likewise in hydrospheric environment which affects marine life as well as polluting the ecosystem

Reducing plastics consumption

Yes the use of plastics should be banned in other to protect and sustain the life of our environment for our own benefit as well as the living things around us and our ecological ecosystem as a whole.

I have discussed about the importance of plastics in our lives as most industrial goods can not be delivered to their final consumer without them, but the question still remains what would replace plastic? Since the call to reduce plastic use has been raised 🤚.

But now since the call to reduce plastic use has been made something must definitely replace it, because you do not expect milk and millo in smaller sachet pack be put in a can, it would be too expensive to afford.

So I would suggest that some companies should start making use of paper like materials which is a little hard to tear but if put inside water for a long time would ferment, I think such materials would definitely be more better than plastics in our environment

Or government should introduce a martial law on the use and irregular disposal of plastics on the street rather it should be properly dispose for recycling to avoid littering and dirtying the environment.

We all know that plastics are so harmful in our environment, but like they say don't find fault, find remedy and I think the ideas which I have just mentioned above can definitely be of great benefits to our environment.

This will be the end of my debate in this week's edition and I sincerely hope that I have been able to convince you all that plastics are very harmful to our environment and the living things in it as well as some of the basic solutions which I have mentioned
