With astriking green mohican hair, this Mary River turtle certainly attracts attention. Her photo suddenly decorate the virtual world and become viral. Unfortunately, this unique animal directly into the list of animals endangered version of the animal conservation institution, Zoological Society of London (ZSL).

The organs in his cloaca - a hole used by reptiles for excretion and mating - allowed him to stay under water for three days, but could not hide from pet collectors who raided his nest during the 1960s and 1970s. This is one that makes the population decline drastically.

As the name implies, these animals can only find on the Mary River in Queensland, Australia, but the numbers have declined due to dam construction and egg collection for the pet industry. These animals are listed as endangered by the IUCN.
