Does "Same Day Edit" Videos On Weddings Really Matter?
One of many reasons why I do recommend a same-day edit (SDE) for your big day. It really is the cherry on top of the cake if it’s within your wedding budget; but do you need one? Here’s a couple of things to consider when asking yourself if you and your partner need a SDE (Same Day Edit) for your wedding.

For those of you who may not be familiar with them, a same-day edit (SDE for short) is a cinematic video highlights that tells the story of the wedding day as it unfolds from the bride and groom's perspective. It includes footage from all of the intimate moments of your event, including the pre-ceremony preparations, ceremony, post-ceremony and first dance.
As an editor I do also do same day edit videos for weddings and debuts for my team Videoworks Productions. It's very nerve wrecking since my team relays on me and they just keep giving me great shots to add on the video. The sweat and tears are always paid off at the last part of the wedding when they play the video in front of the guests and especially the groom and bride.
About 3 out of 5 couples end up getting a SDE, and often times it comes down always to the budget. A SDE averages around $300-500 on top of your wedding package. If you have some wiggle room in your wedding budget, you definitely won’t regret adding the SDE to your wedding day.
A cinematic experience for your wedding day is not only gift for the bride and groom watching, but also for the guests as well. What makes this a unique experience is that it recaps your beautiful day at the height of everyone’s emotions. A SDE can highlight the important and heartfelt moments. Also a reminder that were all gathered in one place together and to celebrate a special love.

It's up to the couple if they're fitted with the tight budget or only wants photograph for their wedding day. Love is all that matters. Celebrating the day with your loved ones is the perfect moment to capture with a camera.

Yay... I like watching same day edit videos during weddings but I don't like having myself in that position to be in the video
Yea man sometimes the pressure of the work eats you but the rewarding part is the emotion and reactiom of the people when they see the video.
One of us was able to witness a fantastic SDE on a wedding day. It was breathtaking, and it added more magic to the most special day of the groom and bride. We do agree. If you have budget to spare, this is definitely a no-brainer.

I have seen professional wedding day videos before, but I don't know if they were SDE videos. It sounds like a very stressful team effort to produce something like that, @qyugmo, but well worth it for everyone.
I had no idea that the video would be finished, and able to be enjoyed by all the guests and the bride and groom together while they are all still in the party mood at the reception. It must really be a wonderful experience for everyone to get to watch it together like that. I bet you feel really great when you get to see everyone's response.
