My post goes for the WoX Steemit Engagement Challenge. I noticed 'My Photo Diary' post by @stef1 and decided to join, especially as through all of December I take stock of the year as a book reader and photographer. As always, the worst damn thing is narrowing down the selection (a small limitation usually rises a solid difficulty...) I've already considered the question which of my photos would remind me best of year 2022 events. Just a note for the record: six (6) photos would be much better and preferable to five :)

June 2022 | historic festival at St.Petersburg, Russia. The city celebrated the 350 anniversary of Russian emperor Peter the Great with a lot of events, one of them was this huge historic festival that I managed to attend for two days - and still missed a lot of intresting stuff. In the photo above you see the role-playing game showing the boarding and capture of a Swedish ship back in 1708.

June 2022 | I attended a calligraphy workshop, which was one of my most interesting visual experiences of the year. Getting to know ancient techniques has never gone so smoothly and pleasantly... as through the viewfinder of my camera! And the kids who studied didn't mind being photographed, all in all -- it brought me a few very happy hours.

April 2022 | I pretty rarely go outdoors in winter -- I hate the frost. This was a little exception, I was invited to celebrate a friend's birthday in a very unusual way: we traveled to a Karelian forest, made there a camp, cooked meal at fireplace and - the most sufficient part -- played a Lazertag game with some 'serious' lazer guns. I'd surely include more pics of myself and my babygirl to show what it was like, if I was not limited to just five. Highly exceptional and memorable event I will remember and come back to in my thoughts many more times.

October 2022 | Karelian forest again. My friend @bambuka invited me for a joint mushroom hunting, and it became for me one of exceptional outings of the year. The hunt was successful but not without some thrills: I got lost in the woods! Luckily, we had our phones charged and, by some miracle, we found each other. Unforgettable experience! In the photo above: the first fly agaric we found. Yes, we hunted for fly agarics too -- they're not as bad as you might think :)

I easily remembered the four events that should have been shown, but considered hard about the last one left. Among the other interesting events during the year: for the first time in my life I visited the vinyl bazaar - I was there as a photographer and shot a great crop; the transport retro parade and the annual book festival on the Day of the City festival, the school year kick-off celebration on 1 September, the walk around town after Zelda Hurricane (it was an important planned meeting with another friend of mine @datych) ... which one to choose from? I selected the last one, for it was rather a unique event for me personally. Besides that I got a nice looking visuals of a flooded city at my hands.

July 2022 | So: the city of St.Petersburg after Zelda hurricane. Hope you enjoyed my selection, although it was rather about a bouqiet of personal experiences, than a selection of cool visuals.
