Esta planta conocida como Angelonia es un género con 34 especies de plantas pertenecientes a la familia SCROPHULARIACEAE, son nativas de Centroamérica , Sudamérica y las Antillas.
Varia en colores en azul y violeta .
Para el siglo XX Maximino Martínez la reporta como estimulante , ayuda a prevenir enfermedades: cardíacas,mentales como el alzheimer y los resfriados comunes.
