Queen Mountain's EPIC Wyoming Great American Solar Eclipse Trip!
Check out my fantastic adventure as we travel into rugged Wyoming for the Great American Solar Eclipse.
We started our adventure in historic Riverton, Wyoming, which was surprisingly not that crowded.
Via some good advice from a local, we discovered Bar 10. We were not expecting to find such a fun and hip bar in Riverton!
Very good looking and cool bartenders at Bar 10!
There just so happened to be a hopping band playing that night, so we decided to take a chance and buy tickets. What a good choice that was!
I mean, Andy Frasco and the U.N. is a spectacular band! The whole place was hopping, and there were beautiful and fun people everywhere!
Well that night lasted until 4am so we got a late start into gold country. We finally made it to Atlantic City, a place that I reckon to be a living ghost town.
We stopped at the historic watering hole and had a drink.
We then ventured and checked out the abandoned mine known as The Carissa.
The community that supported the operation of the mine is called South Pass City and is one of the best kept ghost towns I have ever seen!
150 year-old pioneer graves.
Finally, the day of the eclipse! The sun rises over our camping spot.
I look a little rough here, but nothing will stop me from seeing the eclipse!
For a moment, we were worried as some clouds started to form just a couple hours from the eclipse. We thought about fleeing, but decided to stay. We sure are glad we did, as the clouds evaporated right before the main event.
There were people from all over the world, right here in Wyoming. Netherlands, India, and France all in this photo!
This amateur astronomer brought his telescope all the way from Dallas, TX.
Old friends enjoying the big event!
A view of the partial eclipse from the telescope!
Finally, the big moment was arriving! It was an unreal 360 degree sunset!
The sun went into 100% totality and the tempurature dropped 10 degrees! This isn't a great photo, but it was my perspective of the greatest natural show on earth.
Icing on the cake: a gift from the eclipse gods! I found a sky blue Wyoming agate right before we journeyed home to Montana. Epic!
