Getting real with Quasar.

in #quasarframework6 years ago (edited)

One of the most impressive things in the open-source community is its creative power. In 2018, INTI hired me to develop the new front-end of their white label ticket sales project. (Original Article Link)

As the year passed, the next challenge appeared: Develop a self-service kiosk. Knowing the power of Quasar-Framework with our white label architecture, I chose to start this new project from a fork of the front-end.

You might think that was easy as changing the layout and some components. But don't forget about some new required additions like:

  • TEF/PinPad Terminal ( Credit and Debit card payment)
  • Thermal Printing ( ESC/POS )
  • USB QRCode Reader
  • Stable Internet Connection
  • Touch Screen Display

Every developer knows time is always a huge factor, but as the only front-end developer on the team it would normally seem ludicrous to only have 30 days to publish a working version of the software.

But it was not absurd because I knew the power of the Quasar Framework. I wouldn't need too much time thinking about basic stuff and could focus on the additions. And it was the perfect path to follow. After 30 days our first version was out and running on the client.

By the end of November, our new project started. A PWA application for the event producers and location managers. It was something that we never thought about before. So we took the challenge and the development began.

APP
A mobile-first app that was possible to run on the desktop. So all the charts needed to be touchable and responsive. All the tables needed to have a search and sort. I never looked too much on the charts side of life. So was a long research until I've found and library made by the AntV team of Alibaba (antvis/f2).

With the community power altogether our INTI APP was born. With Quasar-Framework as the base and F2 for the charts.

I would like to cheers all the developers, staff-members, helpers, evangelists and users that together make this amazing community possible: Our friends and family who share their time and knowledge so we can all improve and develop new stuff everyday.

In short: Our developments were made possible by the invisible helping hands of the community.

This one was a bit of a challenge to review. As you know, we're huge fans of Quasar, both as software and as a bunch of people. But this was essentially an ad, and not a very detailed one at that. There's so much to highlight about the author's use of Quasar, and it was mostly glossed over. Further, the post could have used a bit more polish in the writing.

I hope to see more testimonials from you, but would be happy if they were more detailed and provided more added value to readers.

We know that testimonials aren't the biggest bringer of new content out there - but in this case we posted it from the official channel because the author isn't on steem. We wanted to make sure it becomes part of the blockchain record. That said, if you or someone you know is using Quasar, get in touch with us!

Thank you for your review, @didic! Keep up the good work!
