Hidden mallware in CCleaner program threaten the computers of users
Piriform, the developer of CCleaner, has announced that hackers have successfully integrated malicious software into one of the latest versions of this specialized program to clean up computer hard drives from redundant and useless files. This malware threatens millions of users.
"Avast" indicated that it detected the existence of malicious software built into the CCleaner program. Hackers succeeded in integrating them in the absence of the developed company , and malicious software stealing data for users, especially those banks and social security and converted to hackers.
According to Avast, the malware was integrated into the CCleaner update from August 15 to September 12, and the security company said it was about 2.27 million vulnerable users. For its part, Piriform said that users should Delete the program and re-download the newer version and it is currently available and safe.
