Foodie's Diary - Wonderful Hidden Gem Cafe Found

Hello Steemians, today I would like to show you guys something different. If you ever visit Miri in Sarawak, Malaysia you must visit this hidden gem hidden in an industrial area is a cafe which serves wonderful desserts and cakes a place called **"The Ruffles".

It is a small cosy cafe with a large variety of cakes and desserts to choose from. Today, I want to share the ultimate dessert experience with you. When I entered the shop the first this I see is the whole rows of cakes and desserts in their fridge. It was super tempting and they looked so elegant and sweet. It was super attractive.

Apparently they are famous for their crepe, but sadly I was not a fan crepe so I didn't order the crepe but I was a big fan of Rolls and apparently they have Fresh Strawberry Mousse Rows which looks great and tempting which I highly recommend as the Strawberry was fresh and the mousse is silky and melts in your mouth and the sponge roll of the cake taste like rashberries which bring a little taste of sour and sweet mix together.

As for my beverage, I orderd Ice milk tea and I got a pleasant surprise when it was serves as the milk was actually made in to cubes and the milk tea serve at the side. You have to pour the tea on the milk . It was quite a unique way of serving. It was not too bad, as the tea was silky and there was no after taste.

We also ordered a Egg Mango LIne Panna Cotta, which was actually serve in like a bird nest , and it looks pretty awesome. The serving seems a bit small and the taste is has a little lime in it which makes it a bit different from your normal panna cotta. The sour taste is what makes it unique but i'm more of a sweet tooth person.

My Friend who was hungry ordered a cheesy egg sandwich which was serve pretty quick and I was still hot as the cheese was still melting away. I didn't taste it as I'm not a fan of cheese but according to him it was not too bad and satisfying, as the bread was crispy and the cheese was serve hot and melting. It was a good experience.

The funny part of this trip was that due to the fact that they just launched a new tea series, flower tea, where the flower blooms in the bottle which it is serve so out of curiosity my friend order and to our suprise it was quite eye catching and unique. It looks great but for the it has not much taste only the flowery taste but nothing special. I still prefer my Ice milk tea. LOL

While we were having our tea, we noticed that next to our table, a group of friends was serve a special of High Tea Set. Out of curisity we asked them if we could take a picture of the tea set and asked the counter why don't we see this in the menu and we were told that it was only pre order only. Too bad we didn't knew and if we had known that there is a tea set we would have pre-ordered. So this is a must try item on my list to do for my next visit. It was a totally satisfying day that to say and ruffles is one of my favorite place to visit from time to time .
