Why sleeping less is troubling more

In today's modern world, people are so ambitious that they don't prefer to complete their sleep. Instead they cut off an hour or two from sleep and use those to fulfill their ambitions. 

Is it really a great idea?

You get those extra hours, but you pay in spades later. You destroy your creativity, health, morale, relationships and attitude. Some consequences might lead you to sleep less for few days but it starts costing when this becomes a habit.

We facilitate our houses with housekeeping and make it clear everyday. Similar to that it turns out a great deal of housekeeping is taking place while we sleep.

Few points which can help us understand how worse we can make ourselves when we sleep less

  • Sleep deprivation leads to serious health issues:    According to an estimate, 90% of the people who suffer from lack of sleep also suffers from one more health issue
  • Stubbornness: When you are tired, you are easily to get onto a bad path instead of reconsidering the route. This is the stubbornness which in turns lead to put more efforts to achieve one's goals.
  • Lack of creativity: When you sleep less, creativity is the first thing that goes away from you. Making something 10 times effective does not require 10 times hard work, but require great creativity which require only 1/10 of the effort.
  • Irritability: Your abilty to remain patient and tolerant is reduced when you are tired.
  • Accident prone: Sleep deprivation was also a factor in 1979 nuclear accident at Three Mile Island and lots of other accidents happens on roads due to sleep deprivation.
  • In case you are sick, chances of recovery becomes slower if you sleep for less time.
  • Brain’s dedicated waste removal system[glymphatic system] and works primarily when we are asleep.
  • Body losses immunity power: Early fatigue, less resistance
  • Lack of sleep ages your skin reduces sex desire. There are hundreds of other things which gets worse if we does not sleep for proper hours(7-9).

Try to relax more and your sleep will improve.

My inner Geek begs to be unleashed by this post...so I will.
In computer terms...the brain has two types of memory.
Short term and long term.
When short term memory fills up it's much like when a disk needs to be defraggemented. The brain doesn't operate very well.
Buffer Overflow
When you sleep, particularly when you dream.
You short term memory is transferred to Long Term memory when you sleep.
The 'bleed over' from the process is perceived by your unconscious mind as ...a dream.
Humans excel at pattern recongniton. That's what we do. We see patterns everywhere, we generalize (but that's another story). We see patterns even if there are none.
That's what dreams are. Our unconscious minds try to find patterns in the bleed over from the process of transferring short term memory to long term.
IF "--the disk remains fragmented--" very bad things happen.
Sleep deprivation is the same as overloading the buffer and NOT defragmenting the disk
One sure, absolute, works every time way to drive someone INSANE is to keep them awake for...oh...about a week.
It destroys their mind...the disk is fragmented beyond repair.

Note: sleep deprivation is cumulative.
You need MORE sleep as you get older.
If not...you die.

You gave me a different perspective to look at these things :)

I once had to endure 72 hours of no sleep, maybe 1 hour where I alternated eyelids, somewhere in between. That was rough, don't think I could do it again. Well probably could if I really really had too, but I don't and wouldn't want to or wish on anyone. I will write about one of these days.
