Painted Photo Cut-Outs for Local Farm
Photo Cut-outs for a Local Pumpkin Patch
In addition to painting (& re-painting) many, many signs for Pheasant Fields Farm, I created two cut-outs for people to take photos in/with. I'm sure you have all seen photo cut-outs before. You put your face inside the cut-out and get your photo taken. Usually a funny or cute character is drawn/painted on them so that the person getting their photo is assuming that identity for the photo. (Am I over-explaining this?) You get the gist, right?
Anyway, I had suggested that I create some of these for them last year, and so this year they took me up on the idea. Yay!! This year I painted two, and next year I will be creating even more.
Here are some of the proposed sketches that I did this year, and two of these were actually created. FYI- The 3rd sketch here (scarecrow) isn't all the way complete, and I WILL be doing that one next year.
"Kitty w/ Pumpkin" - for very small kiddos (toddlers):
"Cow Train Conductor" for older/taller children:
I was SO excited to start working on these!
Here are some progress photos & finished photos:
Almost done with kitty:
Starting Cow Train Conductor...
Painting the stripes (everything was done free-hand)...
We tried to get photos of our newest cat, Leo, in the Kitty cut-out. He wasn't too cooperative.
Here are some photos of them after they were installed:
Photo of my daughter's friend in the Cow Train Conductor:
I was so happy to see these up at the farm in October, when they had all the crowds. Every time I walked by them, I saw people getting their photos taken. People loved these cut-outs. It makes me really happy!! I'm looking forward to making more next year. I believe that they will include the scarecrow, and one that I have sketched that will be of Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein. Can't wait!!
These handmade cut out designs are so beautifully crafted @pyrowngs, I commend you for such dedication to your art! I especially like the black cat and pumpkin. Can we see any of the signs you created?
Thank you so much! You can see most of the signs that I painted in this post: https://steemit.com/art/@pyrowngs/signs-signs-and-more-signs
I will be doing another post soon showing photos of some of the signs after they were put up/hung.
Just seen that post - my goodness how long must those have taken you! You must have been so chuffed with the end results. I look forward to seeing the next post with them hung in place :)
Congratulations @pyrowngs! You received a personal award!
