Creative Gift Ideas: If Pictures Could Talk
Have you ever struggled to find the perfect gift for someone and just ended up giving them a gift card or a card with money in it?
It is hard to go wrong with giving a personalized “Photo Gift.” My daughter gave me a digital photo frame for Christmas loaded with wonderful photos and special memories.
My aunt recently celebrated her 90th birthday and I gave her a digital photo frame loaded with photos of our very large family. I was very careful to select very flattering pictures of her and others that were taken throughout the years.
Some digital photo frames will also play videos and music. Selecting the recipient’s favorite song or inspirational music and videos also add wonderful memories.
A few years ago before digital photo frames were popular, I gave my sister a collection of photos with a poem that I had written to her:
If Pictures Could Talk
by, @pyemoney
Pictures don’t tell the story
of the crown you’ll receive in Glory
for the love you show for others
Just born to be a mother
Pictures don’t tell the story
of how you give your last dime
Not only to those you love so dearly
But to strangers you give sincerely
Pictures don’t tell the story
that you are faithful and true
True to 1st John 3:18
Not wanting to be heard or seen
But if pictures could talk
and express what I feel today
They would just simply say
Thank you Lord for my loving
sister Marie and for blessing her
for fifty-eight years
as the rock of the family!
Even after over 10 years, my sister still talks about the photo gift and poem and has the pictures displayed on her table in the family room.
So the next time you are trying to find the perfect gift, why not try a personalized photo gift. The pictures tell their own unique stories!
