ICE CREAM BEER | CONTINUATION

Good evening steemians, this was my continuation about our product in Feasibility Study or thesis.

F. Highlights of the Project

1. History

As the proponent took the subject of BA 7A they were already aware of creating a new product that possible to offer in Cebu and will capture the taste of the Cebuano’s. The proponent thought of few products to create such as, 4 in 1 Corn Coffee, Laundry Service and Natural Skin Moisturizer. However, the proponent thought another product to offer by chances.

One of the proponent give her idea about ice cream, since she has a knowledge that Switzerland is popular in making good ice cream, she came up of asking her partner from Germany if they also good in making ice cream, but he responded no, as they are more particular in beer than ice cream. So, from that information, the proponent came up to the idea of why not making ice cream flavored beer? Since fruits and vegetables are the common flavor of the ice cream.

Suddenly, the proponent attempt to make the product, upon tasting the finished product, it turns out bitter due to over measurement of beer. At last, in the second attempt, the proponents came up with the perfect taste of the product and decide to propose the product.

2. Project Timeline and Status

The proponents made a plan of activities which involves a step by step to ensure that they will come up an exact decision in putting their business.

The following below represents the list of activities:

a. Project Planning

This is the overall plan for the business which involves different aspect encountered by the owner. Planning as the first function of management has already started and expected to last in 10 days. Gather of useful information and consultation of a friend who owns a catering business is part of planning. Interior and exterior designed has already part of the plan and expected to start after the approval of the business permit.

b. Permit and Licenses

Every business completes the necessary legal requirements to obtain legal statute. Since it will be operated under a partnership, only mayors and DTI permits and other legal documents required by the BIR should be complied and expected to complete in 30 days. The propose business name will be submitted to the DTI for the approval on February 20, 2017 and is expected to have the feedback in a week or two, the mayor’s and BRI requirements will follow and expected to complete on March 20, 2017.

c. Acquisition and Installation of Equipment, Furniture and Fixtures and Supplies

Purchase and installation of equipment’s, furniture and fixture and supplies are necessary to conduct the business. The business does not require a big investment for such, therefore it is expected in less than 10 days. Acquisition and installation will start after interior designed will done and it is expected to start on March 30, 2017.

d. Recruitment, Hiring and Training

Staffing as one of the function of management will undergo a series of selection to be able to have the best people to work in the organization. Ice Cream Beer as a product type of business really retention of customer will be possible. As the proponent busy doing the study, he/she already had interviewed and negotiated experience and qualified canteen business, and by the time the business will start to operate, at least human resources is already available. However, additional training is also part of the plan, it is expected that 1 month is enough to complete on 2019. Schedule of training will start on January 4, 2019 and expected to finish on February 3, 2019.

e. Promotion

There will be streamer stand to be displayed in front/inside of the consignee’scanteen location as well the on the highway leading into the site of the I C & B Partnership. Flyers will also be distributed in Mandaue and those captured target market area. On distributing the products to the consignee they will be also given

f. Normal Operation

From planning to acquisition and installation of equipment down to hiring and selection of employees takes several days and weeks to accomplish. The business is expected to have its blessings and inauguration on March 30, 2017 the same date when the business accept guest for availing the Ice Cream Beer product.

3. Nature of the Industry

The business proposes product that produces a sweet dessert to be known as Ice Cream Beer. This product is not just an ordinary dessert but also a solution provider for the customer who wants to eat sweet desserts. Since this is new to the market, partnership will always serve the product with a high quality and at affordable price. Our partnership is taking advantage in increasing the demand of dessert in our country. The product that we are introducing is not just actually a dessert but it also a distinctive sweet desserts.

4. Mode of Financing

The IC & B Partnership is managed by five degree-holder individuals, each of the members signs an agreement which clearly stipulates their contribution to the business. They decide to contribute the amount of 170,400.00 peso and borrowed from their parents since the proponent agreed not to borrowed money from any financial institution as they don’t have any collateral to guarantee as a security to prohibit any interest to be paid off as an additional expense to the operation.

5. Investment Cost

The fund that is necessary to put the proposed business is 850,000.00. Each of theproponents agreed to contribute equally in order to start operating the business. Proper allocation and utilization of how much money is intended for certain activities, items, and expenses must be observed.Below is the breakdown of the expenses to make their project operational.

As shown in table above, the cost for rental is a prepayment for one (1) month advance that will be consumable for the first months and two (2) months deposit that will only be refunded or could be used for any contingent liability incurred as the operation of the business. The equipment are consist of ice cream mixer machine, freezer, air condition and computer and other cost is allocated for one partial operation of the business like the allowances for the 2 workers and managers such as salaries and wages.

G. Major Assumptions and Summary of Findings and Conclusions

1. Market Feasibility

The location is situated in Cinco compound Burgos St., Alang-alangMandaue City. Our product is handy which makes it easier for the customer to eat. Our main targets are those individuals who eat Ice Cream Beer which is the BPO’s employees. For distributing our producthave to do consignment way with the partnership of some Business Sectors within Cebu such asbranches of 8 to 8 Catering services.Customers are the most important people in the organization. The success of the business will depend upon the costumers. The partners will be conducting a free tasting activity of the product during the opening of the business which is part of the marketing strategy. Such free tasting is a sort of assessment whether or not they will patronize the product. Thus, the business will soon expect the costumers to buy and welcome the product in their business and further creates a big impact on the volume of the products to be produced.

2. Technical Feasibility

Technology brought a big change to the economy, especially in the business world; it is very useful to transact a business with the use of the computers, machines and others. IC&B partnership does not require an expensive equipment and technology because the process of making of the product is simple. With the use of this, we will be able to produce our product with high quality at a lesser time and enable us to cater the demands of the customers. We can also easily inputs all the data’s to be needed in our project.

3. Financial Feasibility

Building a business, capital or funds should be in good consideration because it will be the source of the business. It is essential to have sound, stable and good flow financial realization. The reason why we engaged business is to gain profit and not losses. As they say competition is in every corner that anyone can hardly defeat. Therefore, it is really important to maintain the financial capacity of any business organization. Running a business efficiently would suggest a thorough understanding of facts related to total cost of the said project and extends the study for future potential revenues.Monitoring the financial aspects of a business is very vital to determine the running of the business. It also determines profitability standing of the businesses, as to how much should be distributed profits and the return of investments.

4. Socio-Economic Feasibility

One of the objectives of IC&B partnership is to generate profits by maintaining good quality products to the customers. To achieve this, we also aim to help the communities to generate income. Maintain social responsibility to everybody in order to establish a good image of the company. Practice proper waste disposal and environmental friendly packaging of the product. The business will also practice energy saving operational procedures which will benefits the company and the society. We believe in giving back to communities in which we will operate lives, making a positive difference in the lives of the people in our society.

5. Management Feasibility

IC&B is Partnership form of business ownership which will handle the management of the business. Management pertains to the process ofplanning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling of business resources to achieve the goals of the enterprise.

For the business to become productive and competitive, the management must be able to set up plans for its activities and facilitate useful outcomes of the system. The group decided to submit themselves into a partnership which consists of five members. This will be headed by a manager/marketer who have leadership skills and have the ability to market those potential customers and reflecting the style of the character in the store. There will be one who is assigned to maintain the daily operation which is the production manager and also for maintaining the area clean. The Financial manager/cashier is for keeping the funds, will do transactions with customers and taking orders from customers. There will be two production workers who are responsible in making the product, at the same time keep working areas organized.
