Swallowed up by social media

in #blog9 years ago (edited)

Our generation is one swallowed up in technology. We post every aspects of our lives on social media. Everything on the internet is true and, if its not then it's not true. a couple is not a couple unless facebook says they are, a person will miraculously get healed when their photo is liked and shared enough. It's not cool unless a celebrity does it and being yourself is a total "no no"

We never stray from the bubble of internet and cell phones. Girls add layers of filters to their photos in order to hide any flaw they think they may have. Guys try to look as manly and musculer as posible, and if you don't have at least a thousand friends your no one. We care more about what celebrities do then what happens on the news. I for one know that when I was younger I always wanted to fit in. I wanted to be invited to the birthday parities just for the photo opertunaties. I wanted to hang out with the popular kids also for photo opertunaties. We do everything we do for social media. We go certain places, do certain things. Just so we can tell the internet we did this, or saw that. When infact we never really payed attention because we were to stuck to our screens. My worrie is that the next generation will be even worse. They'll never trully experience life for themselves. They'll feel like they have to do it for the life of others. People they don't even know but, people's aproval they desperately crave.

I apolagise for not posting mages. I am sttill trying to figure out how.
