Food And Hotel Expo Manila -The Event we Attended Yesterday

These past few days, I had my holiday vacation due to Chinese New Year. And since my husband and I are planning to venture into a new business again, we attended a "Food and Hotel Expo " which was held in Mall of Asia yesterday. We were eyeing for possible suppliers of machinery and raw materials of our soon-to-be business.

We left home at around 11:00 in the morning because my husband still has to settle some things with his existing business. It was a long drive from our place in Novaliches. It took us more than an hour of travel.I felt exhausted upon arriving in the exhibit because of the scorching heat.I could almost feel the summer heat approaching.

When we enter the exhibit we pay the registration fee that costs Php50, and they printed sticker name tags for us.We need it for the exhibitor's convenience when addressing us.It was already the last day of the exhibit so the exhibitors have more urge to introduce and to persuade the guests to buy their products.

I have seen Janice de Belen's kiosk , she was very accomodating together with her daughters. They were selling cooking, macaroons , and sardines. She was smiling at us , so we bought 1 pack of macaroons and a pack of cookies.

We visited each kiosk one by one.We were given a generous amount of free tasting and free samples.I took few pictures because some exhibitors don't allow picture taking at their kiosks.but they accommodated us nicely. All our queries and questions were answered elaborately. We were given calling cards and flyers.

Here's a supplier from Taiwan who is selling fruity poppers and mini ice shaving machine. We tasted their "bingsu" or halo-halo as for the Filipinos. The poppers just look like tapioca pearls but when you chew it, it bursts in your mouth and the fruity flavor comes out.I almost have forgotten my name after trying this.Believe me, the feeling is great and it could give a new experience to your customers once you venture in this business. The shaved ice doesn't melt instantly. The ice shaver costs Php25,000 and the fruity poppers Php 400.00 for 70z.

This is a picture of a liquor made from coffee, proudly a Philippine-made and exported to other countries.Aside from coffee - flavored liquor, they also manufacture liquors from cacao, guyabano, mango and other tropical fruits that we have here. It's just sad that I can't find their products in major supermarkets here. They are made in the Philippines but the owner and investors are foreigners.

We really had a productive day yesterday. We were able to find a supplier and at the same time experience another exhibit this year. And since we always attend exhibits like this, in my next blog, I will be writing about the exhibits we attended last year.
