A Project Management Dream or Nightmare, The Fix - SIEGE

This is the genesis to evolve SIEGE Your Startup.

I am not even sure I believe this is real. A place I never thought I was going to be. A BBQ wings joint in San Antonio. So we had a meeting with Adriel Remirez, a grammy award winning guitarist and John, the”Laser” guy. They are 2 members of Texas Pink Floyd.

We did not start out with normal systems engineering. We were going into the meeting expecting to agree on a 40 foot fire breathing, laser beam emitting, Steel, Armadillo monstrosity too big and tall to fit on a tracker trailer to hall around the USA. The best thing organizationally that came from the meeting was that the Texas road kill behemoth was joyfully shrunk down to a pink 16ft blow up, with a smoke bellowing tube at the mouth, LED lights for eyes, and LEDs for the embers on a cig.

It got more helter skelter from there, our agreed upon date got moved back and our screen was re-shaped to an obscure circle. We added lasers to the Web-site and changed venues. We added a second tour bus and a potential second band. The only normal activity that made sense in the last few months was that they had to start an LLC and get $1 million dollars of insurance.

I was able to settle a dispute between Adriel and the “Laser” Guy. John the Laser guy wanted to have a practice show and Adriel said they were all professional, “let’s just rock the show and push on”. The Talent was not happy. The Laser Guy was right because you do need to practice to avoid any huge errors and bad press and Adreil was right because they are all professionals and have been practicing and laying down tracks. The band needed a video for a press release and for the official presentation, so we agreed upon a private show to get some video and allow access for a special behind the scenes peek at the band. All were happy. We are now a few months away from an amazing show. Rock On!!!!
