Creepy Clay Creatures- Creative Process and Guide with @artystuff
Morning Steemians!
Visited my cousin and creative friend @Artystuff yesterday, and got some creative vibes going in the art shed.
She introduced me into Steemit and i'm so glad she did.
You may have already seen her creepy creatures before on her posts, if not check them out at https://steemit.com/art/@artystuff/my-weird-experimental-creatures-original-art
Obviously I am biased but she has such a unique creative style dark, mysterious folk all rolled into one. She is so talented.
I have never used Polymer Clay before and found it really nice to use, however discovered not to squeeze to hard or your figurine looks a big long faced in my case.
Here are the steps taken encase you've never used Polymer before either!
Firstly create a nice clean working area as any dirt will transfer onto the clay.
From the block of Clay, break off a smaller section, breakup in your palm and start working the clay buy breaking, squishing and rolling into a ball. You will feel the texture change from hard to soft.
Once you have a workable ball of clay, pull a little neck down and add some beads for eyes!
Then came the ears! They started as separate balls of clay which was added to the face, then worked into place and position.
Then we decided to finish for the evening as we were both hungry!
Let us know what you think of our collaborative post. We hope you enjoyed the seeing the process.
Have a lovely day!
