I dropped the paint
I made the mess
I splattered the windows, walls and you
covered in blue.

The cleanup was worse
the mess only grew
and before I knew it, it was me
covered in blue

Midnight sky in motion
or bird of darkest hue
a stellar grape or unfamiliar shape
covered in blue.

When we scrubbed our skin
to factory new, our hair again
in a proper do,
we lost the blue.

And now we dance in Pinks and Blacks, Whites and Tans, but nothing new,
at least not as new as me and you
covered in blue.

Let's throw the paint
and make a mess
and cover the windows and world,
me and you covered in blue

Relationships, like painting rooms, are usually a messy affair. And like rooms, they can be covered in a variety of colors.

The envious ones are more green, the violent more red, the affectionate a paler hue. While not all relationships are colored in a negative tone, make no mistake that they are all colored, somehow.
