There are too many ways to make money and get attention on the internet these days. It turns out, anyone can turn their hard work and hustle into a side gig.
Steem facilitates this.
I just made my first penny of ad revenue (not yet payable) on steemmaker.com. I decided to put ads on it for a couple reasons, including getting more people to use the Brave Browser. Brave users don't see the ads, but Chrome, Firefox and Edge users do. Another reason to put in a few ads is to see how much money I might make with my (admittedly quite low) traffic.
It turns out, I made more money from last night's Vimm steaming than I've ever made in Google Ads.
That doesn't really mean Google Ads don't pay: obviously, there wouldn't be a market if they didn't. But you do need to get a lot of traffic to your site...which can be difficult (even with 1000 followers on Steem).
But all the dApps that are in development give us an opportunity to meet new people, grow new audiences, and explore the edge of where the internet and the blockchain meet...and that's a huge opportunity for everyone with an internet connection.
