Dealing With Feelings - Letting Go of Your Anger and Sadness

It can be difficult talking about feelings and emotions when you are suffering from depression. I have been there and done that. It is usually hard to find the courage to do so but when you feel better, you usually find the strength to be vocal in expressing what you feel. If you are having problems talking about feelings and emotions then it might be a good idea for you to write them down. Keeping a journal can be very beneficial for you and it can help you deal with your depression more effectively. Feelings and emotions can be a major hurdle to get past when you are depressed.


Depression is an emotion that is characterized by sadness and hopelessness. It can also involve physical symptoms such as sweating, fatigue, headaches, restlessness, insomnia, irritability, and bowel problems. Many times people who are suffering from depression go away from reality and do not realize they are really sick until their symptoms are gone.

If you are experiencing problems talking about feelings and emotions then you may want to consider working on your emotional intelligence. You can sharpen your emotional intelligence when you learn to control your reactions to what you are feeling and how you are thinking about it. When you can talk about your feelings, then you can begin to understand why you are depressed. The more you understand about why you are depressed the easier it will be to change the way you are acting and thinking. Once you have learned how to control your emotions then you can work on your emotions and your depression will begin to improve.

People who are sad experience various types of emotions including sadness, anxiety, fear, and anger. Sadness and feelings are natural and are experienced by everyone at some point in their lives. However, feelings that are too strong or are prolonged for a long period of time can lead to depression. It is natural to experience sadness but prolonged feelings of sadness can lead to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness.

People who are feeling depressed may feel that they are alone and do not have the ability to communicate their feelings effectively. When you are depressed, you may find that you express feelings that others might not understand. If you are having trouble talking about your emotions then you can turn to friends and family for support and advice. Often people who are depressed feel comfortable talking about their feelings when they have a loved one who can listen to them and help them with their problems. It can be beneficial for you and your friend to have this type of relationship because it can increase your understanding ability. If you are comfortable talking about your emotions then you can learn how to deal with them more effectively and feel better about yourself.

When you are having problems talking about your feelings then you can choose to act and react to those feelings instead of letting them build up. For example, if you are sad and feel like crying then you could choose to let go of that sadness and try to stay calm. By doing so you may find that you are now happier after you have let go of your anger and sadness. Of course, if you let those emotions start to build up you may find that it will be more difficult to deal with them in the future.

If you are able to talk about your feelings then it will be easier for you to make decisions and follow through on them. If you are unable to express those negative emotions then you will feel like you are letting them drag you down and this can lead to sadness and anger. However, if you are able to talk then you will be happier and more productive on a day-to-day basis.


Dealing with emotions can be very challenging. You need to learn how to deal with different types of emotions. You may not always know how to deal with an angry person or you may not know how to express your feelings when you are sad. Remember that no matter what you are dealing with there is a proper outlet for those emotions. If you allow those emotions to build up then they will manifest themselves in an angry manner. Remember that you are not alone with these feelings and it is perfectly normal.
